Recognition Guide

Additional consideration

Your application as an RO student will receive

additional consideration when you apply through

UCAS to the University of Liverpool. This is

dependent on you meeting all other admissions

criteria (for example, interview performance,

subject-specific requirements and GCSE grades).

Alternative offers

If you are given an offer then you will receive

an alternative offer recognising your successful

completion of RO. You will receive a typical

offer as well as an alternative RO offer of:

Up to 2 A level grades or 40 UCAS tariff points.

For students taking the International

Baccalaureate (IB) – up to 2 IB points or

40 UCAS tariff points. Students must also

successfully pass the IB Diploma as a whole.

For students taking a BTEC Extended Diploma

– up to 1 grade or 40 UCAS tariff points, for

example, where the standard offer is DDD

the student must achieve DDM overall in

the BTEC Extended Diploma with 100 out

of 180 credits at Distinction.

Other recognition

RO students applying to Medicine, Dentistry and

Veterinary Science at the University of Liverpool

may not be required to meet the strict GCSE

entry requirements outlined in the University’s

guidelines. Applicants should check the GCSE

requirements with the relevant department.

Course exemptions

There are no course exemptions. Alternative RO

offers will be made for all degree courses at the

University of Liverpool where an offer is made.
